re you feeling a little shaken by all the bad news swirling around us these days? I know I am. Here in Washington, DC, it seems like every time I glance at my phone or catch a headline, there's another story of federal workers being laid off without cause. All of this gloom and doom is beginning to affect my sunny disposition.
Then I thought of Peter. Like me, Peter found himself in the midst of a raging storm of chaos and doubts. And like me, Peter began to sink into despair as soon as he took his focus off of Jesus and began to focus on the turmoil around him. The truth is, there’s nothing to gain by getting lost in the destructive power of a storm. The victory comes when we lock our eyes on God and His doctrines. When our focus remains fixed on God’s promises, we cannot sink. God will always come to the rescue. It is a promise, darling. Matthew 14: 29-31: So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. 31 Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?”
