I planted a few bunches of potato vines in front of the DollHouse in April. Today they are luxuriant and bountiful - so much so that they have completely hidden the unsightly wall holding up the front yard.
I have enjoyed watching the vines reach higher, wider, and farther as the Spring warmed to Summer and finally yielded to Fall. When the vines began to venture across the sidewalk though, I felt compelled to intervene by cutting back some of the strong coiling stems. Snip. Snip. Snip. At first, the pile of clippings was indistinguishable from the mother plant. But after a few minutes the clippings began to droop and wither. In John, Jesus admonishes us to stay close to HIM lest we too, wither and die. How? Keep learning about the ways of God, the power of His Spirit. Whenever we decide to separate from Him, we perish. It is a promise, darling. 💕 John 15:5-8 5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
